2024 Track & Field Camp

The University of Arkansas Track and Field staff is eager to welcome campers back to Fayetteville, June 13-16, 2024! The home to 50 National Championships, we are excited to host track and field camp at our world class facilities John McDonnell Field and the Randal Tyson Indoor Track.

June 13th - 16th
Who: All Male & Female Athletes 6th Grade & Up
Overnight Camper: $700 per Athlete
($700 + $35 Fee)
Commuter Camper: $550 per Athlete
($550 + $30 Fee)
* UofA Employee Discount of $50 off price of camp.

Inclement Weather Policy: Inclement weather can appear very quickly at times, we have the necessary equipment to be informed of dangerous weather conditions and will do everything we can to keep our campers safe in these situations. We are fortunate to have the Randal Tyson Indoor Track & Field Facility that we will utilize in the event that inclement weather does occur.

ALL CAMPERS (Commuter/Overnight)
Track Camp check-in is on June 13th from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Pomfret Hall 31 S. Stadium Dr., Fayetteville, AR 72701-4037

Forms:
All Required Registration/ Medical forms must be completed prior to camp.

Safety of Campers:
All employees have undergone a background check and have been trained in child abuse awareness and reporting.  A licensed athletic trainer is onsite during all camp sessions. The safety of our campers is of utmost importance.  Our coaches and camp counselors have received training on child safety and it is our goal to create a positive experience for every camper. Therefore, we have a no tolerance policy for fighting and bullying and it will result in immediate dismissal from the camp.

List of What To Bring
All campers should bring running shoes, spikes, or competition shoes, implements or poles, running gear and backpack or bag to carry belongs.  Please also bring a water bottle (labeled with name), hat and sun block. Our primary camp location is the outdoor track, so we will be out in the heat, please remind campers to hydrate prior to camp and post camp sessions.

Special Note: Pole vaulters need to bring their own poles and throwers need to bring their own throwing implements.

Overnight Campers:  All overnight campers need to bring toiletries (including soap and shampoo/conditioner), twin sheets, pillow, blanket and towels. Campers can bring their own drinks and snacks as well.

Parking: There is a free parking location located on the corner of Razorback Road and Hotz Drive located at 1481 W Hotz Drive Parking. Link to free parking lot: https://goo.gl/maps/HDWngWG3gbcBzK9v9.  The University of Arkansas Parking office will ticket all cars parked in other lots until 5pm Thursday and Friday. Temporary visitor permits for other parking lots are available to be purchased from Parking Services. Thursday's Check-In Process:
Registration (check-in) is from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Thursday at Pomfret Hall (31 S. Stadium Dr., Fayetteville, AR 72701-4037). Upon arrival all campers will check-in on the first floor. We will make sure that we have all the forms completed and signed that are necessary and provide any last minute instructions. The first session will begin at 1:15 PM. After the initial check-in is completed campers are allowed to “hang out” with other campers and staff or they are free to go with a parent or guardian. If you arrive early and are staying through until the first session, you may want to bring your lunch. Parents, during the check-in process Camp Staff (coaches, trainers, etc.) will be available to visit with you and answer any questions you may have.

Overnight Campers
Campers will stay at Pomfret Hall (131 S. Stadium Dr., Fayetteville, AR 72701-4037) rooms are equipped with two twin beds. You may request a roommate online during the registration process or you may email mmjackso@uark.edu with any requests. We will do our best to accommodate each of your requests, but we cannot guarantee any requests. If a camper does not request a roommate online during registration or via email, one will be assigned based on age and grade. We take great pride in keeping our campers safe; therefore, there will be supervision at the dorms at all times. Campers are not allowed to leave the dorm, and all campers that drive must turn in their car keys at check-in. Campers are not allowed visitors at the dorms. During free time, we expect all campers to follow all camp rules. All overnight campers need to bring toiletries (including soap and shampoo/conditioner), twin sheets, pillow, blanket and towels. Campers will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout camp at a University Dining Hall. We will not accept any horseplay or noise issues from our campers staying in the dorms.

Airport transportation will NOT be available for any out of state campers attending track and field camp.

Check-out Procedures:
Pick-up- Campers will only be released to those individuals listed on your registration forms as approved persons with the ability to check-out camper. Daily pick-up locations are specified on the camp schedule.

Sunday morning (last day of camp) we will have a camp track meet. We highly encourage you to attend and cheer on our campers.

Parents/Coaches/Fans:
You are welcome to stay and watch camp, we just ask that for your safety and the safety of our campers that you please sit in the stands.

Group Break-out Sessions:
We will break athletes into groups based upon event. There will be varying skill levels in each of these event groups, each camper will have the opportunity to be coached and instructed on development based on their skill level. Campers that do multiple events can switch between event groups at each of the break-out sessions to cover all areas on interest.

Refund Policy
There will be a $25 processing fee on all refunds and cancellations. There Is a $20 processing fee for all returned checks. Refunds will only be given for medical reasons when accompanied with a letter from your physician.

All camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, gender or grade.
Participants are not contracting with the University of Arkansas or the State of Arkansas with regard to participating in this camp, and the University of Arkansas and the State of Arkansas do not run or have any responsibility for the camp.
